Welcome to Blend Cafe Lounge based on the High Street in the market town of Thornbury.
Blend offers a unique mix of quality food, freshly prepared and served in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
Blend opened its doors on 25th October 2008 with a modest menu and a lot of enthusiasm. It was the concept of Richard and Penny Baker who spent three years planning and working towards finding a suitable building that would create the perfect environment to enjoy a blend of fine food and excellent service. Since then our reputation has grown and Blend has won the hearts of local people as well as visitors to the area. We now offer a wide range of food from a varied breakfast menu and large lunch selection to a three course evening meal. In addition to this our ever changing seasonal specials board reflects the creativity of our head chef Simon, offering exciting choices of starters, main courses and desserts all lovingly prepared right here at Blend.
We source our produce locally wherever possible with the belief that good food cooked with passion and pride is the best you can get. Of course we put our own twist on each dish to further surprise and delight our customers resulting in a menu that offers a "Lewis Carol" take on British Cuisine.
We believe in quality and therefore all that we offer is the best we can source, including our coffee. Our staff have been trained in the art of coffee making so that each cup is hand made with the aim of providing our customers with the perfect drink every time. All of our coffee is triple certified which means that it is Organic, Fair trade and Rain Forest Alliance certified.
We also offer a wide range of teas, which are also fair trade. We have an extensive wine list, lager and Guinness on draught and a selection of local bottled ales and ciders to accompany your meal.
We have been delighted by the local response and feedback we have received since we opened with a wide range and diversity of people enjoying the atmosphere at Blend. Parents can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with friends whilst their children have the opportunity to play with a selection of toys. Students and professionals use the free wifi access and in the evenings people of all ages enjoy dining with us as evening falls, candles are lit and the mood changes all ready to enjoy delicious food and drinks with friends.
We have recently opened an upstairs function room where weve hosted parties and evening dinners for groups of up to 26 people. The room has also been used for business functions and as an overflow at our busiest times. (Please contact us at any time for room rates and specialist menus for our function room).
Although our summers are very temperamental, we always like to make the most of the sunny days when they arrive. So with this in mind, we built an outside courtyard area with raised decking which gives our customers the option to enjoy al fresco dining. Getting a tan whilst enjoying a great meal and drinking a glass of wine, what could be better!
So whether you want to explore our menu or join us for a glass of wine, coffee or indulge yourself in a luxury hot chocolate you can be sure you will be made to feel at home here at Blend.
